My R/T won't start!!!!
Ok, here is the lowdown. Got a 92 R/T. Just a few weeks ago I put in a new battery, alternator, and terminals due to electrical problems from storing the car for a long time. It's been running great ever since. BUT, just a couple days ago I went out in the morning to start it up, and it wouldn't. I had just driven it the previous day, so the fact that it did not want to start was odd. I had someone connect some jumper cables and it did not work. I have a fully charged brand new battery that is reading 14 volts, but when I turn the ignition it just gives me a *click* from under the hood. It only clicks once when I turn the key each time to start the car. Any ideas here guys? Thanks.
The EEK! Mailing List on AllPar says this, does anyone think this sounds about right as a decent hypothesis?
59. Car / minivan will not start, CLICK!s instead
David J. Allen quoted (e-mail address removed).mil as saying that, when his
89 Caravan sometimes made a loud CLICK instead of starting, he saw that the
starter solenoid contacts were eroded down the thickness of a penny.
Vandamme soldered a real copper penny, filed to the shape of the missing
electrode, into the space.

that the contacts had worn down to the point of only providing intermittant
contact when engaged. A friend of mine brought me a couple of strips of
1/8" copper from work which I cut and formed into new contacts. They fit
right in and I haven't had a problem yet (1 1/2 years).

Palmetto, you should go over to www.turbododge.com and register your IROC RT. We are trying to get a count on how many of our cars are left. A pic or 2 and a story about how and where you got the car would be awesome if you have the time.
Not to metion, THE best T3 brains are overthere, so any problems you can get the best help on the net.
Hope to see ya overthere.
