Default Advice Needed on Buying a Daytona

Hi, I'm new here, and I've been interested in the Dodge Daytona for a while now.
I'm going to get my driver's license very soon and I'm considering different affordable options. Although Daytonas are older cars, I think it's the perfect first car for me. I recently found an '89 Daytona ES going for $3000 with an automatic transmission, new battery, "like new" tires, one owner, and 88,000 miles on the odometer. Should I take a shot at an older car like this, and would you guys recommend the Daytona to me as a good first car?

Really? I don't see too many around and when I do they're either junk or want twice as much money as this one if they're actually nice and drive-able. But this one is about as close to mint as I've seen.

Wow. That's really good. This one doesn't even have power windows or t-tops. Maybe you're right. If it doesn't sell the price will probably drop.

Well, Daytonas in my area are few and far between. The only source I know of to find obscure cars like it is Craigslist, and most need to be towed or need restoration if it's even worth it. But actually, I recently found an '89 Shelby restored in beautiful condition with t-tops and leather interior for $4900. However, I'm not very good with a manual yet and I'm not sure the insurance rates would be good for a turbo considering I'm a teen.

Alright guys, I just found a mint condition '93 IROC. It has 98,000 miles on it and it's going for $3100. It's absolutely spotless, and has all the bells and whistles except leather interior. It is owned by a car collector and he says he's never driven it in the winter, but I want to go see the car in person.
Given this information, do you guys think this would be worth taking a fairly long drive to look at with the intention of buying? It seems like the perfect car.
