2001 Dodge Dakota Motorsport, Red. 4.7HO V8 4 Speed Auto.
The Motorsports Package was an appearance and performance group added in 2001 on Dodge Neon (2946), Intrepid (1026) and Dakota Lines (1028), totaling only 5000 vehicles, to celibrate Dodge getting back into Nascar.
Motorsport Package includes: 4.7L with HO cams and intake, 3.55 posi (9.25), black powder-coated 16' wheels w/ yellow letter Goodyear Eagle #1 tires, exclusive running boards, body color bumpers w/ chrome grill (only MotorSports had this combo,) "Dodge MotorSport" badges on doors instead of "DAKOTA," R/T suspension and "Track Pack" (box of assorted Dodge, Dakota and Nascar items, all still in packaging and never used.)
Options: Alarm w/ keyless, A/C, power locks, power windows, power fold-in heated mirrors, overhead console (HomeLink, sunglasses and MPG/compass computer thingy,) AM/FM/CD, cruise, fog lights (new bulbs,) dimming rear-view mirror, Sliding rear window (smoke,) upgraded alternator, and bucket seats w/ center console, heavy duty rear brakes.
Additional mechanical: K&N fipk, flowmaster muffler (2 chrome tips out the back,) adjustable throttle position sensor, 180 thermostat, shift retard eliminated, and clutch fan removal. Have original exhaust system, intake systems, and clutch fan. Tires are worn, I purchased a set of silver 16' Dakota wheels (to be included) from E-Bay years ago intending to get another set of yellow letter Goodyears to put on them, but never did.
Additional appearance: Mopar hood sheild, Mopar VentVisors, Mopar Bedmat, Mopar Fiberglass Tonnau w/ lock, clear corner lamps, tinted glass, and spare set of Silver "normal" Dakota 16' wheels. Have original corner lamps.
Maintenence: Fram SureDrain. Mobile 1 w/ M1 filter, new plugs (Autolite 3923,) every 3k. New belts in '06. Replaced Rotors and new Rabestos pads for front brakes in '07.
Very well maintained, 31k miles (apx 4k miles per year,) stored winters, one mature owner, fast (but not beaten up,) one-of-a-kind, looks and sounds great.
