Could someone please give me the basic procedures of a 2000 fuel pump swap, such as the easiest way to do it? The rest is academic so I just need the basics. I spoke to two people today who own Neons and they both said the symptoms I described were almost a dead ringer for a fuel pump as they both experience the same as me - and both had to replace fuel pumps so I am willing to do this based on the similarity. r u looking for info to replace a stock pump? if so it is not that hard with a basic set of metric sockets... just disconect the vent lines off of the tank, along with the filler neck off... and unhook the fuel tank straps along with the fuel lines going to the sending unit..(u will see them from the passanger side of the car), also there is a wiring harness going to it... disconnect all that and drop the tank by unhooking the fuel tank straps... knock the lock ring off and install the new pump... replace all the lines and harness and u r set...
