just test drove new ram - awesome truck!
A local dealer let me take home a new ram for the weekend. I currently own a 2008 tundra. Let me start out by saying, the new 5.7 ram blows the doors off my 5.7 tundra in just about every category i can think. I hated to give the truck back. They made a real good offer on my tundra and came off the MSRP of the ram about 10k. I am worried about the future of chrysler and i know toyota is probably make it through this mess. I guess i should wait. All i know is I will never buy a toyota truck again - did i mention the tundra sux when towin and it's been in the shop twice. any suggestions?
If chrsyler does go out , it would probaly file chapter11 reorganize their debit. the % of autos total from chrsler was up for Feb.
You will not see any more rebates more than right now, the no charge for hemi, but they took some of the finaces out.
With gas down and the big 3 stopping production or limiting there will not be a lot of trucks setting on the lots with back log. A lot of people are buying used not new.
If you can get a decent tyrade-in and all the discounts , take the plunge
Buy the max care - life time warranty " bumper to bumper"

The Big Three wont go down the tube. The Government has already said they are a National security issue. They may do Chapter 11 but that as bad as it will get. Hell Chrysler was worse off than this in 1980 until a genius by the name of Lee Iacoca took over. They will bounce back. The need to get the unions under control. I'm not anti union but gee whiz the money they make to screw on a part and the benifits...give me a break.
Most likely Chrysler will not go away. There is a chance they'll file chapter 11 to reorganize debt, but in that case warranties will still be honored. They are threatening to basically file Chapter 7 in which case your warranties may very well be worthless (that depends on details such as who picks up the pieces, was your extended warranty underwritten, etc.). The chances of that though are probably less than 1%.
And yes, the union workers are a little overpaid and they still mismatch shocks, door handles, etc. The workers down here in TX at the Tundra plant get paid less and probably work harder too. But that's for another topic.
And if your dealer is desperate, you should be able to squeeze up to 14 - 15k off sticker if you're buying a fully loaded Ram. I'd think you should definitely at least get 12k.
