Default Does Your Truck Ever Start Itself?

This has happened to me three times. Twice was at home, the kids were hanging out in front and my son came in and told me that my truck was running. The other time, I was washing the truck and was reaching over the fender to wipe the hood and the engine started again. Today at work I happened to look out the window and saw that my front parking lights were on. I walked outside and notice that the engine was running. I don't know how long it was running, but the temp gauge was between cold and the mid point.

I've got the remote start, but it seems that the button on the key/transmitter is a little sensitive. My last 2 GM trucks had a remote start, but the button was semi recessed so it didn't get pushed in by change and other goodies in my pocket, plus you had to hit the lock button before you hit the start button. The button on the Dodge remote is not proteceted in any way, you just need to push it twice. Maybe Dodge should reengineer the button so it's less prone to accidental start-ups.

Ok, I assume that your keys were in your pocket when you were washing it???? I have never had that problem, but it could certainly be possible even if you have to push it 2X. I have the remote start, but haven't had that problem.

Never had that problem. Very strange....spooky strange. This is a long shot since it happened 3 times but can someone have the same frequency as you? Thats my only guess unless you had the keys in your pocket and pushed the button 2X or someone is playing a prank on you with the other set of keys.

On my old '97 dakota I could use my key FOB to unlock my buddies ford explorer. My guess is that it's from having the key in your pocket. If it was from some other signal it would always happen in the same place.

One of the reasons I don't have remote start. Something less to go wrong.

Mine has started once by itself. I am positive it was due to my keys in my pocket. My wife pointed it out to me. She came in from the garage and said, "why is your truck running?" lol
