Default shifting into drive

I have noticed when I start the truck, shift into drive quickly[floor shifter] there is a 'lil' whinning noise, once it goes into gear, very short noise but it is there?

I herd a chysler mini van do the same noise the other day in a parking lot?

Anyone else hear this.

If I let it run for little and then shift into drive gear I have not herd it?

It's probably pump whine until the pump sucks up fluid from the pan. I know the '05 hemi truck my wife used to have had a recall on it where they replaced the trans filter with one that had a redesigned check valve to prevent fluid from draining out of the valvebody and torque converter overnight and causing this type of thing. You can either live with it, as it's unlikely to hurt anything if you don't stomp it while it's making the noise, or you can take it in and see if they can fix it.

Let it warm up for a second then shift it into Drive. If it still happens bring it in for service.

^ +1. I got in the habit with our 03 jeep to wait 5 seconds or so after start to put into drive. I also do this with the Ram. Seems to let things catch up before driving off.

yeah its not like a t.v, you cant just turn it on and then change the channel right away.

you have to let all the fluids start running through.
