Default New to Ram and Dodge

Well, I'm a converted Ford man.
I have bought 2 Ford F150's that didn't last more than 5 years, so here I am.
I just bought a 09 Ram, Crew, Big Horn package (White). I've only had it for a couple of days but I love it so far, but already having a regret.
I wish I would have sucked it up and added the Uconnect GPS. What are my options? Am i going to have to pay $2000 if I want to have it added?

I think people are way to giddy about the GPS craze. I live in VA and all of the time I see people with FLA or GA tags headed south on I95 with a gps mounted up in the windshield obstructing there view of the world. Don't get me wrong, gps is a very useful tool. I usually try to know where I am going to a point (i.e. I-whatever to exit whatever and then use my cell phone's gps to zero me in. Most major carriers like Sprint, Verizon, etc. offer exceptional GPS apps, some with voice recognition, some with satellite view where you can zoom in and see landmarks to help navigate. I have three different ones on my cell and actually prefer all three to the one that came in the wifes 2008 Caravan.

Welcome. I just came from 5 years in an F150 too. Mine had a new rear end under warranty, and needed a new starter every other year, but nothing 'really' major aside from being a slug. It would have needed a ton of money in maintenance and tires this year, so with the deals out there I started shopping. I wanted a great looking truck that shoved you into the seat when you hit the gas and into the belt when you brake. The new F150s did nothing for me in any of those regards. I have a feeling there will be a lot more of us showing up here. I've had trucks for all of my driving life; and I've never had one that I just plain love this much.

Amen. I think my wife is starting to get jealous. She walks by and gives that little twinge look when I'm standing and gazing out of the picture window that overlooks the driveway.

welcome aboard!!! i just bought my 2009 BIG HORN (black). loving it!!! i had a dakota before, and it really wasn't something i truely liked. wasn't a "real" truck to me. probably cuz it was a four banger and i did a bunch of stuff to it (ie: air bag suspension, 20's, and a lot of other stupid things that i ended up regretting).....then i, most recently, had an A4. Gave that **** back to Audi and felt like I needed something BIG. shopped around and found my way back to Dodge! I'm glad I picked it up and finally got myself a REAL TRUCK! 5.7 HEMI!!!! GOT TO LOVE IT!

Welcome. I'm from the Ford world too. Came from a 2004 Sport Trac with the little 4.0. Moving up to a 5.7 was like reliving my days driving my Dad's 81 Ranchero with a 351C.
