Default Radio Wiring

I have to put a two way radio in my truck for my job. Any thoughts on where to get power from? Typically I have gone directly to the battery in the past, just wondering if there is a better place or a dedicated place on these trucks.

to the battery is always best. The cig lighter plugs are convenient to tap, but depending on load, you can overload the socket depending on what you plug into it with the radio on.

I would go through the firewall in to the fuse box.
