Smile 09 Ram payload question

I would like to haul a slide in truck camper weighing approx 1400Lbs. With the low load carrying capacities of the coil spring suspension, can I install the air lift 1000 air bags in the springs and feel ok about hauling this camper? Torklift has made frame mounted tie downs which i purchased and fit beautifully to tie the camper down so that is not the issue. Just worried about payload and if it would be ok to haul something like this and not hurt the truck or am I dreaming?

I see now that Dodge came out and stated they underrated the 2009 1500's payload and now the 2010's have 1500Lbs MORE GVWR capability with no hardware changes. Should I feel safe about that?

Anyone had any experince with Airlifts or hauling big pay loads yet? I have the 4wd SLT Quad Cab version. Thanks!

You are cutting it close. You could put that in and nothing else. No food, people, etc, etc.

The Airlifts are not to increase payload, only to level a load.

Slide in campers for 1/2 tons are almost always a bad idea. 1400lbs may be the mfg weight, but then you need to add on the hundreds of lbs of junk that you will need to put in it for a trip.

Thanks for the input! After researching all this I think I will stick with a pull behind camper instead. I'll still add the coil rites from firestone to help equal some of the loads.
