First tow.
Went and bought a Gulfstream Aero Lite 24 foot 5th wheel RV yesterday.White with a blue accent stripe.Truck and trailer hooked looks good.Went about 250 miles to get it then turned around and brought it home.Advertised "dry" weight is 4100lbs.RV did have some water in the tank a roll type propane cooking grill, some pots, pans, plates,tv ,spare tire plus a platform in the rear trailer receiver for like a scooter or such.Squat was minimal. No need for air bags or any help in the rear.Tow/haul works great. Its pretty trick in the way it works. The touch the brake and truck starts slowing/downshifting on its own until throttle touched is pretty nifty. No need to select a gear manually. It downshifts as needed and pulled good. You DO KNOW a trailer is hooked.Drove mainly back roads, small towns it was more of a direct route from Athens Ga to near Jekyll Island area.Got 11.8 mpg and some of that was HARD rain and such. Now a little maintance work on the RV and then a quiet BEACH and a cold one!
Had no issue in tow/haul with gear hunting. It would downshift and hold that gear even a while after hitting flats again. Was very impressed with tow/haul mode and the way it pulled for a gasser engine.
