Default how does the radio antenna come out ?

Ok,

so I am hand washing my truck today and the radio antenna base on the passenger side fender is loose. It looks like it may have been bent due evidence of a very minor imperfection in the paint. I dont know what happened. It may have been like this when I picked up the truck 2 weeks ago.

My question is: How does the antenna tighten or come out? How does the wire unplug. I want to know so if the dealer wont take care of it I can at least replace or repair the base. I am not going to fight tooth and nail over this since I am not sure if it came this way. I will buy a new base if I have to... but want to know what is involved..If I have to fix it myself the imperfection in the paint is not enough for me to worry about..

thanks

The FM/AM antenna or the sat/nav antenna???

FM/AM antenna just screws off and leaves the base behind. I'll have to double check, but once the antenna is removed, should leave two notches on both sides. almost like a large flathead.

my truck is at the body shop to have a dent removed, if nobody else helps, I'll check it out once I get mine back.

it should be simple and you should be able to tighten it up yourself. as most parts, bolt on or screwed/clip on.

there should be a round nut on top the has like 3 or 4 teeth you can put a special tool or a hammer and screw driver but would be better to pop by dealer if its loose its their problem not yours. Warranty. Leave it alone and let them fix it is the smart move.
