Default Oh, Why me??!!??

I had an 09 crew cab 4x4 Big Horn Flame Red Ram bought from my dealership. It was a dealer trade and they had to drive just over 6 hours one way to pick it up today. The driver gets to the dealer to pick up the truck and is informed that it has been sold...to someone else! I guess the sales manager didn't mark it well enough and while he was gone over the weekend, even though it had been promised/held for me, it was sold by another sales person to someone else. So now my dealer calls and has to tell me what happened. They tell me they have been searching the computer all morning for another truck to match the one that got away, but 09's are are hard to find right now. They said they will try to make it right. Now they are trying to make me a deal on a 2010. Of course it will be a little more money (rebate is only 2500 on the 10 instead of 6000 on the 09), but it does look like they are trying to make it right. Things just never seem to go as planned.

Wow, sounds like you have my kind of luck.

eBay is a good place to look as well. Plenty of new 2009s on there so that you'd still get the warranty.

Good luck man, and let us know how it goes.

I hate to be blunt, but I seriously doubt this is what happened. A sales manager would not be in that job for long if he made that kind of mistake. I'd be willing to bet that they got a better offer either from a walk-in or another dealer. As a matter of fact, that same sales manager probably got a cut of the greater amount for making the truck available. That's his job.

agreed.

also, 6k off an 09 isn't a good deal. I got 12k off mine and now they're offering 15k off 09's.

If you had a deposit on the truck you had a contract, the dealer broke that contract. Looks like some major legal action is needed to set that dealer straight.

The dealer he had the contract with didn't do anything wrong. Even if his dealer did cancel the deal, there is nothing actionable as long as they gave him his $$ back.
