(CA) 97 Dodge Dakota Club Cab 5.2 V-8 4x4 5-spd NV-4500 Rare Build $3000
1997 Dodge Dakota runs and drives well. Good truck to as is and would be a great reliable truck with some work.
The Good: NV-4500 transmission swap from 1 ton dodge truck with BD Diesel short shift kit, NP241 transfer case from 1 ton truck, Centerforce II clutch, 3'' body lift, 15x8 Pro Comp 1089 rims, brand new (50 miles) 31x10.50x15 Firestone Destination A/T tires, Magnalow catback with Magnaflow catalytic converter (sound amazing), Flex-a-lite electric cooling fan, Snug top shell with brand new carpet kit (has been sitting in storage for years)
The Bad: Front end could use new lower ball joints, idler arm, and an alignment, ac is broken (needs new evaporator valve. I have replaced everything else), air bags deployed in a mishap with a ditch years ago (has clean title), paint looks good now, but has begun chipping and I have repaired it with high quality spray paint and it looks decent, new chrome bumper has started rusting a bit, tail gate has damage, tranny swap needs a few things to be finished- aftermarket speed sensor (odometer and speedometer have not worked since swap no more than 20,000 miles ago), interior work to the shifter hole to make it look factory, check engine light is on due to no speed sensor
I have driven the truck every day for the past two years and it has been a good truck but I don't have the desire or money to finish it. I had plans for a 4bt swap and solid front axle. This is truck would be a great off-road project with some time and money. I'm interested in a trade for any 4x4 or AWD and prefer a manual tranny. No adapter necessary. The trans came from a 3/4 ton with a 360. That is the same bolt pattern as my 318. I already got and offer for $1200. We will know in the next month if I'm going to part it out.
