Default Bak flip or tri fold on 2011 Rambox?

My Laramie with the Rambox is getting delivered next week. Which cover do I go with, I want to be able to use the full bed when needed and would like it to be as close to "waterproof" as possible. You guys that own them give your opinions please...

I have the BakFlip G2 on my Laramie with the RamBox and it has been working great. It's been through some heavy rain while driving on the highway and also when it was just parked outside, and no leaks either time. I've also had it folded all the way up so I could move some large furniture and it really did give me access to the whole bed without removing it. The only downside is not being able to see out the back window when it is folded up, but the large side mirrors let you see what you need to. The only thing I don't really like is the cord you pull to release each section to lift it up. It just digs into my fingers. When I called to order the G2, Bak Industries said that the F1 was getting a better release handle, but for as little as I use it, the cord is good enough.

Thanks for the info, I just ordered the Bakflip F1. It looks like the best set up out there for what I need. Can't wait for the truck to get here! Three months without a pick up and its killing me!

I personally want an American roll cover. I think it is the way to go. You should check them out online.

If you had the handle, it would take about 2 days before it aggrevated you enough to cut it off. The handle hangs down a couple inches and almost always winds up between the seal and tailgate if you shut it fast.

I cut mine off and I'm much happier without it.

I have a BakFlip F1. It's a great cover, just be aware that it still limits what you can carry. If you load 20 sheets of plywood into the truck so that they're laying on an angle atop the tailgate, make sure they're strapped down tight, otherwise they'll crush the side rails if they shift. Likewise, forget putting something like the headboard for a bed lengthways in the bed leaning on the rails. You'll snap the support arms right off.

It's arguably the best-looking, most versitile cover out there. Just be aware of the limitations.

I like the one they sell at the dealer. The one that rolls back and I believe its aluminum.
