Okay, I have a 2010 Ram Sport. I dont have the GPS head unit, i just have the normal one. It has the uconnect buttons on it but it obviously doesn't work. My question is, do i need to buy the whole $300-$400 uconnect system, or can i just simply purchase the microphone wiring harness that connects from the back of my head unit to the rearview mirror? That is only $40 on ebay. My dodge dealership doesn't seem to know anything so i need you all to help. thanks.

You need the kit because the uconnect module is what makes it work. It comes with everything you need and then you still need to make a trip to the dealer to get it starscanned in so the uconnect will work. It's a 500 dollar setup. There are all kind of visor and mirror bluetooth things out there if you need something right away on the cheap.
