Default Chose a wheel finally, how about TPMS sensors

Thanks to many of your suggestions and opinions on different types of tires, it inspired me to just buy a separate set of wheels for winter, and reuse the original tires off my stock 17" steel wheels. I figured they have new enough of a tread to get me through at least one winter.. However, I don't want a flashing light on my dash for 5 months, and I definitely don't feel like doing the sensor swap game every time it turns spring and winter, so I figured I just should get a separate set of wheel sensors for the winter wheels. However, at $80 a piece, that could easily bust my budget. I heard good reviews on Orange, but I'm hesitant to purchase them through eBay without any feedback from other users of their sensors on after market wheels. Any help be greatly appreciated.

Heres the wheel by the way. Installed, computer balanced, and 4 wheel alignment $500. My tire salesman definitely hooked me up.

I don't know if this works or not but I have seen this suggested.

Take the sensors off the original wheels and make yourself a airtight container with an air valve. Put the sensors inside the container and pressurize to 35 PSI. Store the container in your truck somewhere. This way no lights and it doesn't matter what wheels/tires you use.

For $80.00 a pop...I'd make a nice little cover for the TPMS light and go with that for the winter. Take it off in the spring...I hate those things...

I'm a wee bit to OCD to let a light on my dashboard slide lol. However, the tire guy made an interesting suggestion, and that is to just swap over my sensors from my current after market wheels into the winter wheels, and then deal with getting a separate set of sensors in the spring. However, I can be a little **** and prefer to just stay on this dilemma while its fresh in my head, otherwise in the spring when I'm ready to role on the 20s again, I will have to be re-depressed that I need another set of sensors. I'm persistent like that I I suppose.

The bottled container filled with my sensors is interesting to say the least, however I don't think that's an option for me right now.

Just ordered what looks like the same wheel from Discount Tire with Cooper Tires and the TPM sensors were $47 each.

I got four OE sensors off eBay for $60, used off an '08 Ram. Check around at some offroad shops.

invest in a superchip or other programmer and turn off the tpms in the winter time.
