warranty question
Im wondering if a dealer has the power to take away or "void" the warranty on my truck if they have seen it was used in mud/clay situations as deep as half way up the rims? would they need specific evidence or is word of mouth from one of the dealers employees enough to void or cancel warranty?
the reason i ask is, there is one GENTLEMAN that lets say.. does not like me.. lol.. and threathend to have my warrenty revoked because he seen the truck being used "where it shouldnt" where the mud was half way up the rims, where the truck was still driving itself forward under its own power.
really i dont understand why they would be able to do such a thing seeing how they sell a FOUR BY FOUR truck, in my opinion that is exactly what 4x4 is made for. thoughts? opinions? experiences to share? maybe you know someone/somewhere I could call to ask, rather then the dealer lol thanks in advance guys!

Sounds like your "Gentleman friend" needs to get a life. If he works for a Dodge dealership, take it to a different one. I don't think clay up to the spindles is going to void your warranty on a 4X4, unless your friend has videos of you purposly trying to destroy your truck. Driving through mud with a 4X ain't grounds for divorce in my book. If you watch the TV ads, Sam Elliot seems to be encouraging beating the hell out of the Rams, (with Chryslers blessing).
i would talk to the owner of said dealership, any business owner knows it is easier to replace an employee rather than a customer. simply explain said employee is threatening to "flag" your vehicle and void your warranty. being part of the jeep world i can tell you, even though a jeep is advertised as an off road vehicle, damage occurring off road is not covered ie:bent tie rods, punctured transfer case ect. our trucks are not advertised as off road vehicles. if you go out and bury your wheels in the mud make sure you clean underneath really well. i use a lawn sprrinkler underneath the jeep and then run through a carwash making sure i get the under carrage wash. this removes the bulk of the mud and keeps jeep clean and rust free.
I would go to the dealerships manager if he was a complete ***** aswell. Im young and he obviously didnt see me as a good enough customer not to give me snotty answers and little information about the trucks i was inquiring about, so long story short.... I didnt buy from him.. i went 7 hours away and got my truck. so i doubt talkin to him will do ne thing, ill be on the phone with the dealership i bought it from this morning for my problems. Thanks for the quick replys guyz!
I had a dealership last year, where I had been going for 15-years, not cover a repair under warranty. They denied warranty repairs because of a modification on my truck that, did not cause the problem, AND was not even hooked up at the time.
I ended up taking my truck to another dealership where they are professional. They diagnosed it, came to the conclusion that there was a defect, confirmed that it was warranty able, and fixed it under warranty. Hats off to dealerships/technicians that truly want to help the customer! Good luck!

The DEALER can't void warranty. The DEALER can talk to the Factory REP whom can void warranty's and HE puts the restriction in the computer for ALL to see when warranty status pulled up by vin number.Always two sides to a issue.I have had new Nissan 4x4s get driven, pulled and towed in from a drive through good ole Georgia red clay.It drys like concrete and can and did cause real damage. It did not necessarily void entire warranty or any warranty but it could cause ANY warranty to be approved by FACTORY REP on a item by item basis when brought in for a issue.A few that FUN filled drive did kill entire vehicle warranty when mud and water found in the doors, snorkel of air breather,in the ash tray etc. Some folks detailed their trucks and we/dealer personal still found where clay and water caused the failure. So BEWARE playing in the mud and expecting someone else to pay for the repair.Sometimes the owner of that new mud bogging truck has to deal with their Auto insurance adjuster.
