Parking 2500 in parking garages?
I had sort of focused on getting a 2500 4x4 when I discovered that they are close to 80 inches tall, which is the clearance of my parking garage at work. I also noticed that I never see a 3/4 or better truck parked there. In fact, do they not fit (or altrnatively too close for comfort)?
Depends on the truck and garage - our old 1999 2500 4X4 with stock tires and no lift fit in all the parking garages I ever encountered in the area. It looked close from the driver's seat but once standing outside there was a lot of clearance. Best bet would be just to measure both. Gotta remember, too, all the parking garages I've seen have big horizontal support beams that have limited clearance under them, i.e. the ceiling isn't one consistent height.

the 2500's arent 80", mine with no lift, and 33's (really like 32's) clears under my local car washes 72" or 74" bar (must be 74, because 72 is 6 ft and I know our trucks are more than that). my girlfriend lives minutes outside DC with nothing but apartments and super crowded, my truck fits in maybe 2/5 garages.
these trucks were not meant to be driven in urban environments, however it is do-able, as I do it daily

Reg. cabs are 76.2" according to the Ram site. Mega cabs are lower and there is no spec on Crew and Quad. It would be close but you wouldn't want to get any taller tires. Specs say it should fit. Fords are even taller.

Got a friend that was in a Hotel room overlooking the parking area.He saw his 2500 Diesel 4x4 truck. It had a line from front to back on the roof. When he was able to check it out he said it looked like fire sprinkler or a pipe got it.Says he didn't recall anything ever hitting

My 2005 Power Wagon is/was 80.6" (6ft. 8-1/2in.) tall with the factory 33" tires. It sits at around 81.6" (6ft. 9-1/2in.) tall, now, with my 35" tires. I do not go into any structures unless they are at least 7' minimum.
I cut it close one time and wound up in a structure that was 6ft. 10in. Thankfully, I had the whole family inside and a half-full tank of gas. The glow of my roof-top clearance lights were shining brightly on the cement beams overhead. I was sweating!
