Do the interior lights come on after turning key off?

Do the interior lights come on after turning key off?
Parked in a dark parking lot last night, shifted into Park and turned off the keys - it was very dark, and I can't remember if the interior lights previously turned on after turning the key off. The interior lights came on when I opened the door, but I thought for sure just turning off the keys (without opening the door) would turn them on.

Ours only turn on under the above conditions, have never seen the interior lights turn on by just switching the ignition key off (ours has RKE).

UPDATE: I just tested my truck.
Mine (overhead courtesy lights) illuminate when I open the door to exit the vehicle whether key is on or off unless the IP dimmer wheel is full left position. Turning key off by itself did not illum the lights.
