Default How to obtain new electronic keys?

I have a 2010 Ram with the new keys that have the remote start on them... I lost a set of them unfortunately. I have no idea how to obtain a new set seeing as they probably need programming to the particular vehicle. Has anyone else ran into this problem? I feel so dumb for losing my keys haha

You`ll need to go back to your "stealership" for replacements.
And yes, they`ll need to be programed to your specific truck.

When I bought my truck I was told they are around 500$ a key from the dealership. Anyone else had to actually buy from the dealership? I would start searching ebay and hope you can find one. You will have to pay the dealership to get it programmed though. Those darn things are expensive for sure.

For my '09 without remote start was around $150 for a new key and programming at the dealership. If I remember correctly, they were charging $120 for the key and $30 to program it.

Well I would hope that remote start would not cost an extra 300-400$ but hell you never know with dealerships.

I sure dont know where you got that $500 info from, but its very wrong, unless you have a very greedy stealership, and thats not entirely impossible either. Shouldnt cost more than $120 to $130 bucks total. Some dealers will even waive the programming fee when you buy the key fob from them. I`ve also heard of dealerships in the past, that will try to sell you the extra key that normally comes free WITH your new vehicle too....thats why we call them stealerships. My advice, trust KNOWONE...!
