Thumbs down Rusty Bumper

Hello all, I've previously read posts on the rusty bumper issue and wondering if anybody has a solid answer yet. I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn Crew Cab. There has been surface rust in areas all over the front bumper. When I brought the truck into the dealership they told me there was an issue with the galvanzied bolt. After I explained to the service counter personal if he talks to people like they're stupid he might not like the outcome in the end. First a "galvanized" bolt causing rust? No. Second a bolt causing surface rust in numerous areas? No. The truck is under 3 months old and would like to get this issue resolved. This is my first Dodge vechicle and so far I'm not very impressed the service dept. I now have a formal complaint in with Chrysler Corp. Canada. Oh and the back up camera is broken already too. It works intermittenly.

Somebody help

Well I've heard of people having their bumpers replaced under warranty, but they just end up rusting again so I'm not sure that's a reasonable fix. I have the same issue on mine and I've been thinking about either replacing it with a sport or TRX bumper or possibly having it powder coated or just going with an aftermarket bumper. It's a shame because I like the chrome look. Some people say if you keep it waxed it won't rust, but I don't really have the time to wax my bumper all the time, plus I shouldn't have to do that. The bumper should just not rust...lol

Only certain trucks qualify for the replacement under the RRT. Mine did not. I just had it replaced under warranty and the bolts were replaced with stainless to prevent the surface rust issue from the rusted bolts under the front fascia.

Default Rusty Bumper Shock

Hi. I'm new tonight to the forum. I bought a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT on Jan 21st, 2011. Now that most of our snow has melted, I washed the truck by hand today. SHOCK! Rust on both front & rear bumpers.
When I went to the dealer today, I was still in my truck in the service entrance and said I had rust and the service guy rattled off "front & rear bumpers - it's a known problem"!
reading the other posts, this problem has been around for several years. I am quite upset - is there nothing we can do to get this issue fixed?
