Default Express vs sport

So, I was wondering what is the difference between the sport and the express. I know that the express is the value oriented truck and only comes in regular cab. But is that it? What makes up for the $10,000 difference? Same power right? Interior is just ST interior which I'm already accustomed to.

I am actually considering trading in my ram for the express. The express has the power I want the look I want and everything else I can mod =D.

Oh and btw I owe $9,000 on my 2008 ST. I have 18k miles.

I took it to the dealership last month and the offered me 14,000 (I was kinda disappointed). But, that was prior to any of the body work I did. My bed was covered in rust, which I sanded down, removed and applied a paint on Bed liner. Also painted my bumpers. And it has a ton of mopar accessories. Do you think I can get a better offer?

Should I even do this? Is it economical? My payments are at 305 right meow.

And suggestions welcOmed!

Looks like the difference is that an express is an ST with fancy bumpers. No power windows or power locks.

Why the heck would you trade in your truck and take a bath on it. Buy some sport bumpers for your ST and you basically have an express.

I don't know, I have the 4.7L V8 and the Express comes with the 5.7L V8 stock. Wouldn't the engine up grade along side the aesthetics (including sport bumpers, fog lights, Painted grille) be worth it?

The express I configured came to 24,000 with 3.92 rear axle and the ST prefered package (which I have on my ST lol).

Sounds like it could be woth it depending on the price difference. Didn't you want to swap out for a hemi a while back anyway?

To answer the question.... The express is a completely stripped truck, with a Hemi. Sports are typically very nicely optioned. Just go look at them, you will see many differences... Lights, bumpers, wheels/tires, seating covering, dash, console, power options, radios/systems, flooring, exhaust... I could go on and on....

Only you can answer that - to me, trading one stripped truck for another stripped truck with a slightly larger motor, different front clip and losing a ton of money doing it would not be worth it.

If you kept your eye open, you could probably find a used Sport with a pretty decent discount. As CarGuy said, the true differences between a Sport and a Express are huge, especially on the interior. I also think the Express only comes with a 3.21 rear end, or maybe a 3.55 at best. With the Sport you can get a 3.92.

I know getting a brand new car/truck is a thrill, but savings-wise used really is the best route. Besides, with gas as high as it is, idiots all over the place are trading their almost brand new trucks in. So, if you looked around a bit you could probably find a really good deal on one. I tried like hell to find a used one, but in 2009 finding a used 4th Gen was tough. After looking for months I finally found the truck I wanted, only to have it sold less than an hour before I could get off work and get there. In the end I just bit it and bought a new one with almost everything I wanted (damn 3.55 gears).

Also, isn't the Express a single cab only model? I know you have an ST now, and you're use to the ST trim, but could you really give up the Quad cab? I know I couldn't.

IDK, I think you guys talked me out of it >:|

But, I always prefered coupes. lol jk. But yeah, I would not mind driving a regular cab just because I never have passengers simply because I don't let anyone in my truck because they akways trash it (family and friends). Maybe I'll wait for the next Body revamp to buy a new truck.
