Default 2010 Power Wagon - Added 2011 Power Towing Mirrors

I have a 2010 P/W and added factory trailer towing mirrors (with courtesy lights, turn signals, and power heated glass) from a 2011 2500. My original mirrors had only power heated glass and nothing else. I had the truck to the dealer to reflash the computer to "turn on" the functions of the other power options and they say it is not possible. Anyone out there try this with any success?? Thanks.

Ike

Does anyone (maybe a Dodge Tech) have some input?

I just installed a pair of OEM tow mirrors myself that I got on Ebay on my 2011 Outdoorsman (tired of waiting for the Mopar mirrors to come off back order since December 2010). The defog and power work well, but no signals or puddle lights.
My local Dodge dealer is not very adept at high tech stuff, so I'd like to be able to tell them exactly what they need to do when I bring my truck in for the diff recall to enable these features.

Thanks in advance,
Mike

There are dozens of threads on this. Supposedly the dealer can add the option code for the mirrors with the starscan and that will make all the lights start working.

I've never tried to have mine activated, couldn't care less about the signals or puddle lamps - just needed the bigger mirrors.

Damm sorry to hear!
Wondering if you know what they did?
For me the dealer I went to had it for 45 min and said they reconfigured my vin? They added the code and no luck! I wasnt to happy with that dealer for other reasons so for my tierod recall I went to a different one a bit further and once I was there I asked them about it. The guy said he can see on the computer the other dealer added the trailer break code and the towing mirror code BUT might have not activated the mirrors!?! I had no time to stay longer but asked when I come back for my oil change if they can try? He said yes they can probably get them turned on but with a fee of 45+tax since everytime they connect to the computer they have to charge!
NOW I'm wondering if I should try since the first dealer charged me 60 for the time but it was a waist. So I'm wondering if you had the code added to your vin PLUS the activation done? With no luck. It save me some $ if you did than I woudnt bother you know. Thanks
