Default HID's?

Searched HID's in the 4th gen forum and didn't find anything and I'm sure that this wouldn't be a new topic so if anyone knows where it is offhand then please direct me there!

Want to put 8K HID's in the headlights and something(?) in the fog lights. Any recommendations on the kit (preferably what you're using and tell me how they're doing ie flickering etc..)

I've seen a couple of install videos on YT so I think that I'll be able to tackle it but if you live in DFW and know of place that installs them at a fair price then add that too!

Thanks

Search for 'hidextra' and you'll find a ton. 'HID' might just be too short of a search criterion.

Aftermarket HIDs provide a great light upgrade but they are not without their challenges.

I use 3B Specialties on my lows and fogs. No flickering, strobing, or any other issues in over a year.

Dustin, any tips on install? I've seen a YT video where you have to cut a hole into the dust boot covering the bulb connector. Was this what you had to do as well? Hate to cut into it.. but, it's probably a $10 rubber part.

It's a plastic part and is easy to cut. But I don't think they sell them individually. You probably have to buy the whole headlight housing, which would really suck. If you choose to remove the HIDs later you can instead just plug the hole with a simple rubber grommet and be done with it, unless you need warranty work on the headlights, then you're SOL.
