Default Backup camera is fogged up.

Wondering if this happened to anybody else. I have a dodge backup camera installed and I went for a car wash, I sprayed underneath the liner between the tailgAte and liner a bit because it was dirty. Water must of splashed inside the camera somehow and now its all smoggy I can hardly see through it. Wondering if its something I can clean muyslef.

I wiped the outside but the problem is inside. Is there a way to get in there?

Remove the panel on the tailgate.. should give you access to the camera. Careful not to break any of the plastic tabs on the lock mechanism if you have to remove it.

This video should show you how to get access to the camera.. skip ahead

If installed by dealer and a dealer part should have 3 year warranty I would take it back should not leak.

Ok so I was shining my truck yesterday again and figured I'd try and take the camera apart, Freq thx to ur video this was really easy. But the camera itself is a sealed unit and cannot be dissasembled. I thought maybe the camera could unsccrew the lens or something but not the case. Somehow water got in the lens, seems to be getting a little better everyday but not great.

If anyone else has this problem u pretty much have to bring it in and request a new one. Now I have to make an appointement again and probably lose my truck for a day for this.

Good day guys

I had the same issue and it DOES NOT go away. Have the dealership fix it.
