my phone connects fine, but when I had a 730, all I had to do was say "Call wife at work" or "Call Uncle Fred" and it would automatically have my address book in from my phone

but now with the 430 it needs me to say the actual phone number

is there a way to auto-load my contact list from my phone so I could just tell it to call the name?

 

Once my phone is connected it has access to my phonebook. All I have to say is "Call Mom Cell"

All I have to do is what you originally described ex. Phone home or call bryan or what ever i have never had to say the number unless it wasnt in my phone book..

 

could be that your phone has not synced properly, try just to remove the pair settings on both the HU and your phone, then re-sync. Depending on your phone sometimes you have to set your phone to allow syncing the address book. (Thats how it works on my android anyways)

The bluetooth module is the same in the all the HUs (as far as I know) Even the very basic decks. So I don't see why it wouldn't work on your 430 and its does on your old 730

 

What phone do you have? I have an iPhone4 and it works fine with the 430. The only thing that drives me nuts is when somebody calls me, I hit the phone button on the radio to answer and it waits until the whole message is done ("Call from <name>, press uconnect button to answer"). This usually takes more than five seconds to answer. Drives me absolutely insane! I haven't found a way to immediately answer the phone when I hit the button.

 

Might be that the module needs to be taught your speech pattern... It's in the setup phase.

 

Need to know a couple things:
1) what phone do you have?
2) when you did the pairing, did you select "always & accept" when the request to download the phonebook dialog box came up?
3) how many contacts do you have in the phone?
4 are the contacts on the SIM card or on the phone?
