Default 730n auto color mode not working?

2010 laramie with a 730n nav system. The auto color mode does not want to work. I can change from daytime to nightime colors manually, but when I set the system on "auto color mode" it just stays on daytime colors. Is there any way to fix this?

how is your time set? Is it manually done or set to sync with the GPS? I do believe the auto colors only work if your time is set to sync with the GPS. How it gets it to turn on and off is according to the sunrise and sunset times of each day. So im pretty sure it adjusts it accordingly, NOT a set time.

Forgive me for being a complete idiot, but how do I set my time to automatically sync with the GPS?

oh man I'm a dufus lol. I checked in the settings, and the clock was set on GPS time, so that wasn't the issue. The problem was I had the gauges brightness set to maximum, so the auto color mode wouldn't work. I moved the dial for the brightness down a notch and bingo, my auto color brightness worked!

That was my next thought! I just assumed that that was not set all the way up, I had a buddy with the same problem and he just manually set his clock. Seemed to work after we changed it to GPS time.

Good work,

Bronco,

Glad you figured it out. You are not alone as I have heard that question plenty of times.
