DVD's in Headrests
.I would go with a set from crutch field. Our headrests have a very unusual slanted mounting system that puts the steel post at an angle, so you want to call to be 100% sure the set your get IS VEHICLE SPECIFIC! if not, you will be wishing you spent the extra money..I'll snap some pics tomorrow and try to post
I have the Power Acoustik HDVD set-up.Replacement head rest dvd players.I have had them since August 0f 09.Up until abot 3-4 months ago they were great. Now the driver side dvd player sometimes won't eject a dvd. They only had a 1 year warranty.I may buy the mopar set later.Retail on the P-A brand is $1159.95.........They have wireless head phones, and will also play through your sterio speakers, and can watch 2 seperate movies.
i bought a set of the low end 200-250 dollar units off of amazon, and promptly uninstalled them and returned after a 1 week trip with the kids. they were terrible, skipped, and problematic in reading the dvds after the first trip, and on top of that were totally useless as a headrest because they were too thin and didnt angle forwards like the factory headrests, so there was no way your head could reach it.
i then went back and forth with the roof mount or mopar headrests. i found an set of mopar headrests on ebay factory sealed for very cheap and bought them. install wasnt too bad asides from routing wires under the carpet and having to solder in the power leads behind the cigarete lighter, and they are awesome. look great, fit great, and function well. biggest downside to these vs some of the aftermarkets is there is no internal speaker, so you have to listen to them over the radio or the rear seat passengers have to use the wireless headsets. its not the end of the world, just means i am listening to the kids dvds untill they get old enough to be trusted with the wireless headsets.
