Don't bother with undercoating, it might actually make things worse.
Take your time with the prep work and then use a quality paint instead

My dealer sprays the same stuff on that they use for lining the truck box.
Time will tell if this is a good idea or not.

I just sprayed mine with T40 from krown rust control. The rubber coating type is probably the worst thing you can do. Your truck will rot inside out. It will look good on the outside but will hold water in between the frame and the coating. As long as its some oil type spray. I used 6 cans to spray all underneath. It's just hard on the eyes lol. There's other kind like FilmFluid or aokwrhijf like that. Whoever sprays boxliner on the frame is probably not a good thing, especially when salt is being used on the roads

I'm a big believe in the Krown rust control system/products as well, as opposed to undercoating. It's pretty popular where I live (north of Toronto) and the roads get a lot of salt. It's applied annually. It's a lighter mineral oil than some of the other oil spray systems and creeps into all door seams, etc. I had my truck sprayed in September and it was $130.00. They do complete underbody but also inside all door panels, under the hood, etc.

Done my truck myself. It´s not a funny job but worth it!
I cleaned my under, and let it dry. Then applied the thin rust stuff. And let it dry for a day in warm garage. Then I applied the thicker stuff with air pressure. Looks awesome and will hold a long time. I will check for wearness in couple years or so.

Did my doors and inside frame with the thin rust stuff, also applied with air pressure.

Time will tell if it will hold the Swedish salty roads!

I also like the Krown rust control spray. I live SW of Toronto (Canada) with a lot of salt and snow in the winters its always done a good job preventing problems. Another good point with Krown is that whatever you paid the first time you got the vehicle undercoated is the price you pay every year for the same vehicle for as long as you own it. So even if the price goes up you still pay the same...which is good because at the rate the Krown pricing has gone up within 5 yrs or so you will be getting a significant savings from what 1st time customers are going to get.
