Exclamation 2010 Ram 2500 CEL

This morning as I got into my truck I noticed the CEL was on. I'm not sure why this is...I used to own a 2005 Ram 1500 and when the CEL came on all I would need to do is turn the key 3 times and it would show the code in the ODO. Is there a similar way to find out what the code is on this truck or am I just limited to getting it plugged in? Thanks in advance for any help!

It should. Could be a ghost fault, try resetting the negative cable on the battery. My wife had one of those on her '07 Explorer, however resetting the battery also required depressing the brake pedal to draw all power before it would reset.

I don't want to unplug the battery because there could actually be something wrong with the the truck and I don't want to let it get worse...I just need to know if there is a way to check for a code like on my old 3rd gen...

The key truck should work, however if you reside near an Auto Zone they run code checks free. Or if you know anyone with a handheld tuner, Diablo, SC, Bully Dog, etc... those will also read CEL codes. Theoretically if there is a problem the code will reappear, if it were a ghost fault it will not, after resetting the battery. I suppose I wasn't quite clear at the point I was suggesting.
