2009 ram bad rear 42000 miles

Default 2009 ram bad rear 42000 miles

3 weeks ago my drive shaft broke. a lot of noise as one would think, pulled over to the side of the road. pulled the drive shaft out of the trans Thur it in the bed. switch to 4wd to limp home would not move.towed to dealer.still there no parts. why rebuild lets go whole rear. maybe late September the parts will be in. I been trying to get a hold of the Dodge Rep. no luck any ideas

Late September and you've it's been there three weeks, that seems a little suspiciously awkward. Have you tried contacting Chrysler directly?

they did give me a rental after 10 days, I think they should pay from day one. plus they gave me a little Chevrolet to drive, I drive a Dodge truck. I did call Chrysler no help at all gave me a case number.

They HAVE to give you the Rep's number or contact info.
They did give a loaner though. Pretty sure that would be considered as a replacement so you can't go for "Loss of use." Unless you se your truck for a business.

Hopefully if you are the one that bought it brand new you have lifetime powertrain warranty. Still sucks though.

If you haven't done so already, you should contact the NHTSA...in July, 2012 they launched an investigation into this very issue with 2009 and 2010 Ram 1500s. Pending results of the investigation NHTSA can force a recall. According to NHTSA the investigation was launched with 12 documented complaints of seizing differentials and/or failing driveshafts...but in reviewing posts on various Ram forums there has been a lot more than 12 incidents.

CONTACT THE NHTSA as soon as possible...!!!!
Ther are hundreds of these trucks with failing rear differentials, MINE included...!
This is a SAFETY ISSUE...!!!!!!!!!!
