Default Ticking noise from underneath my RAM.

Hey there, i'm hoping someone could help me with an issue i'm having with my 11 ram 1500. There is a ticking noise coming from underneath my truck when I drive. When I accelerate from a stop I dont hear it or if I slow down below 20 km's the noise stops. It seems when I coast or drive normal I hear it. I took it to the dealer who could not find anything from underneath. They did replace my lifters but couldnt find anything from underneath. It's driving me nuts because it sound like it's getting worse!!!! Anyone know what it is and how I can fix it or have simular problems? Any info would be great!

cdnbloke,

Sorry to hear about your concerns. If the noise is still there after the dealer has completed the repairs, I would recommend going back to your servicing dealer to advise the noise is getting worse. If the sound is occurring only when driving you may want to inquire about taking a drive with the service manager to try to duplicate the noise, so the dealer has a better idea where it is coming from.

PM me if there is any addition assistance you are seeking.

I'm not sure if this is the same issue but i had a tinging sound under my truck (11 ram 1500 sport). It took a while to figure out where it was coming from because it would only do it at intial startup as it ran down from high idle. Turned out to be a heat shield around the transmition was close enough to touching the trany housing and as it resonated with the engine viberations it would make contact. One quick tug on it and the problem was fixed.

hope this helps.

I am having the same problem also. The guy I bought the truck from told me it was the o rings from the after market exhaust and that it would stop once it warms up which it did, but now its constant and gets louder when I give it gas. Took it to dealership and they want to replace parts in motor for almost 4000.00. Im a female so I feel like they think Im an idiot for one and 2 my truck only has 68,000 miles on it. I use my truck when I travel and use my car ( also a Dodge ) to get around in town so most of the mileage on my truck is highway. I havent lost any power, I have noticed that at a light or when I come to a stop it does sound like it may be idling a little bit higher than normal. When I look at the rpm's its is up but just a tiny bit. I wouls appreciate any help at all because of all the money I have already put into the truck, k&m filter set up 6 in lift rims new shocks bully dog etc. Any suggestions? I do a lot of the work on my truck myself so If you have suggestions , pictures along with it are greatly appreciated so I will know what I am looking at. Thanks in advance

The last 2 exhaust manifold bolts (closest to the firewall) on BOTH sides were broken on my 2010 after only 120,000 Kms..

This caused quite a racket...especially when cold.
