Front axle seals
I'm on a phone so haven't had much luck searching. I just learned both my front axle seals are shot. One is actually leaking pretty good. The truck is a 2010 TRX4 with a little over 32,000 on it. Dealer said its fairly common up here for this to happen. I'm in Alaska. I had thought at first it was the oil filter loose as I had a leak issue in April.
So I guess my question is, is this a common problem? And if so, why doesn't dodge do something about it?

Mines a 2009 with 31K, No issues with the front seals to date.
I live in the other weather extreme (Arizona) hot summers. Wonder if the issue is the road salting along with the very cold winters? Yours should still be under warranty (3years/36K).

Yeah it's under warranty. The one seal was completely shot. The other was ready to go. They debated on whether to replace both due to one not failing but decided to. They don't use salt up here, just gravel. I've talked to other I know here with 1500's and they have not had any issues.
Have you considered the fact that you live in ALASKA??? Im sure the mercury hits -40 atleast a few times during your winters.
Doesnt matter what pickup you go out and buy, they all leak like a bast*rd when its that cold out.
Here in the NWT we replace LOTS every winter, however after the part # for the R/F axle seal on the 1500's switched up to an "AC" its been better.
