Default Help DodgeCares

We have a 2009 1500 Dodge Ram. It has leaked twice (after heavy raining) on the passenger grab bar and headliner above the grab bar. Warranty covered both of these. Today, we get home from work and both the passenger and now driver side are leaking. Now our truck is out of warranty. Where do we go from here? We feel it should not be our responsibility to pay anything due to this being a pre-existing problem that has yet to be fixed. Please help! Thanks.

Do a smoke test to find the leak

Maya,

Contact the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center at one of the numbers below. Tell them about already having this repaired once under warranty and that you want it fixed again as a goodwill repair. PM me with your vin and I will follow your case.

The dealer should also look up the case that deals with this issue. I am posting it below.

Case Number: S1123000002
Release Date: 02/10/2011
Symptom/Vehicle Issue:
Water is entering the vehicle through the A-Pillar grab handle and/or overhead console.
Diagnosis:
In order to properly diagnose the Passenger side and Drivers side A-Pillar trim will need to be removed and the overhead so that the front part of the headliner can hang to expose the top of the windshield. Once vehicle has been de-trimmed with the help of another tech begin running water at the base of either drivers or passengers A-pillar and slowly work your way up to the roof and along the roof ditch slowing moving towards the rear of the vehicle while watching for water to enter the vehicle in the areas specified in the illustration.
