Bilstein AND 4" Lift Question
I have a 2010 Ram 1500 TRX Crew Cab.
My original plan was simply to level the front of it and put on some slightly bigger tires so I installed a set of Bilstein 5100's in the front last fall set at the max 2.8" setting. I did not install any spacer/lift in the rear.
This setup has been fine however I have not changed out the tires as of yet as I was still deciding on what rim/tire combo I wanted. Originally I was considering something around the 295/70R18 size (about 34.5")
I am now considering installing a Rough Country 4" suspension lift (RC328S) instead of putting a 2.5" and new rubber on my Jeep TJ since the RC lift will be about the same cost as those combined.
Question: If I were to have the RC lift installed, what setting would I use on the Bilstein 5100's I have in the front? Should they be changed back to the stock TRX height of 0.7" to keep the truck sitting level once the new lift is installed?
It is my understanding that the RC lift kit would level the truck on its own, so if I am thinking it though correctly if I had the front left at the 2.8" setting it would be nose high since I do not have any other spacer in the rear.
Am I on the right track or completely off? Hope this makes sence since I just finished night shift... oh so tired.
