Default 2010 ram power steering whine

Asking for a little help diagnosing this issue...from the title I've determined that the power steering pump is most likely the reason for a recent whine that's developed from my 5.7 hemi. Pump reservoir has correct fluid level, and tonight I took off the serpentine belt to isolate the noise, sure enough it went away. AC compressor was also off, and whine was apparent, with fluctuations during steering wheel movement.

Question is, has anyone else had a similar issue? Truck is still under warranty, but with only 40,000 miles, seems a little premature to be putting a new pump in without a TSB or recall...

Thanks

Apparently you never owned a ford. Now they used to have really noisy steering pumps. Bring to the dealer. Just replace it and be done with it.

No, I've never owned a Ford, but I've heard enough of em coming around the corner...literally. I'll replace it, just checking to see if I'm missing the forest for the pump...
