Default 2014 Ram 1500 OEM Horn Questions

Good evening all

So I got a 14 Ram 1500 Hemi Crew Cab!! Absolutely love it. Traded up from an 02 Ram 1500 Quad cab. A lot nicer for sure

I have always had an electronic Airhorn in my vehicles. In my old truck I had a switch box and a 8 relays wired up under the back seats. A lot of work and honestly I don't need a switch box anymore.

I like to use the OEM horn switch on steering wheel. I have used the realy prior but I just want to put a SPDT switch in this time for ease of installation. I need a positive trigger for the airhorn.

This is where I need your help. Is there a positive horn wire in the drivers footwell in the cab? If so, what color wire and in what connector? If there is not one in the cab, I can use the wire at the horn under hood. I looked under the hood for the set of horns. For the life of me is can not find them.

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative cable from the battery.
  2. Remove the left front fender wheel house splash shield from the vehicle.
  3. Locate the horns and mounting bracket on the outboard side of the left front fender load beam above the left front fender wheel house.
  4. Disconnect the headlamp and dash wire harness connector for the horns from the horn connector at the back of the rearward horn.
  5. Remove the screw that secures the horn mounting bracket to the load beam.
  6. Remove the horns and mounting bracket from the load beam as a unit.
