Unhappy No overdrive or lock up torque converter

I hope I can explain this so you guys can help me. Here's the problem. I took 2010 dodge ram 1500 with the Hemi Yea I know, hp baby hp; to dealer today for a no overdrive when check engine light is on. I explain that there are times that it will go to overdrive when light comes on but only about 10 percent of the time. They gave me code for cam and crank sensor and said they would have to start here. I don't agree with their diag. I felt they were guessing. any of u guys have or had this problem before. what did u do to fix it? Please help. my baby is sick.

Sounds about right. I would check your connections first to make sure you have no melted or frayed wires and make sure the connections are solid and no water/corroosion inside of them.

Hopefully it is as diagnosed and is not associated with a bad throttle body! Cam and crank sensors are the cheapest fix. Since you threw those 2 codes, it's likely one of them is the culprit.
I think both sensors are like $40 for the pair. Shouldn't take more than 30min to replace. The crank sensor is by the manifold so make sure the wiring isnt melted. You may have to remove the EGR assembly for the cam sensor. I'm not exactly sure on the 2010's how they are situated??
