Default Limited Slip Part # Request

Hey All,

I have an 09' 1500 SLT, crew 4x4 with 3.55 (open diff). I want to swap in a limited slip differential.

My gut is to go with Dodge, but thinking maybe a trutrac would be a better option. Either way, wondering if anyone has the specific part numbers from any supplier for my need.

Reason I look for direction part #, is I prefer to go into a place with the #, and save all the dilidaddling, should I get someone who isn't as educated or knowledgeable as some of you.

Thanks in advance.

And here is what I think I know. I have a Chrysler 9.25" and if I wanted a Eaton Detroit TrueTrac it would be part number 913A368... r

Any other thoughts?

that's the part number from the application guide. One thing I heard when I was considering tru trac was that you couldn't run tires bigger than 33". I don't know if they still say that or not.

That is interesting. I'm going to assume that this is not the case. Running 33" tires would only depend on gear ratio. Could always run a different ratio for different tires.

Any other opinions?

If you go with the Detroit Locker will it void the warranty?

Yes. Installing any aftermarket product will kill the warranty. Well, unless you have a friendly dealership that will update the MOPAR database with the changes. If a dealership opens up the 3.55 and sees and LSD and there's no dealer annotations in the system, they'll automatically flag it as non-warranty work. As long as the MOPAR system says it was installed as a "dealer option" then you're good to go. None of the 3.55s or 3.21s came with LSDs, so as soon as they open the pumpkin, they'd check the system.
