Angry 24" wheel adapter issues on my '09 1500

Just picked up a set of Helo 24" rims that did not have 5.5" bolt pattern. When I put the wheel adaptors on the truck, the factory lug bolts are still sticking out past the actual wheel adaptor about a 1/4 inch. Can I just shave the factory lug bolts or should I search for wider wheel adaptors? I don't want to make the mistake of cutting something and then having to buy all new wheel lug bolt assemblies....any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you bought the wrong adapters.

The factory bolts are 1-1/8" long so you need an adapter 1.25" or wider.

I would NOT cut the factory bolts because you will have one hell of a time threading your lug nuts on once they are cut. High probability that one or several will end up being stripped.
If you look at factury lug bolt ends, you will see there is a nipple on the end with no threads. This guides the lug nut on for easier threading.
