Default How can I retrofit a telescoping steering wheel on a 2014 Ram 1500?

I bought a new 2014 Ram 1500 Big Horn a couple of months ago. I love 95% of this truck. However, the longer I have driven it the more annoyed I have gotten over the lack of legroom for the driver and no telescoping steering wheel. The dealer says it isn't available and cites liability. Does anyone know of a shop that could add one? I am seriously considering trading this truck in if I can't find a way to remedy the problem. Close enough to the steering wheel and my legs bump the dash. Far away for leg room and I have to reach for the wheel.........

You will never find an aftermarket telescopic steering column. And it's doubtful you would ever find anyone to custom build one for you. The liability concerns would be astronomical.

Do you have a power driver seat? If so, experiment with the seat height and angle. I am 6'5 and have no issues with legroom. When my wife drives it (she is 5'3) she moves the seat forward and down and then tilts it a bit down too eliminating any issues with her legs hitting the column. If you don't have a power driver seat you could retrofit one.
