Default 2014 Ram Engine RPM Stays High

I have a 2014 Crew Cab with 5.7 and 8-speed automatic. I've had it for about 6 months, and I believe this problem has occurred since new.

When I remove my foot from the accelerator and brake to a stop, the engine RPM does not drop as quickly as the truck slows down. It continues to "pull", fighting the brakes as I approach a full stop. Just before the complete stop, sometimes I feel a downshift which results in an additional surge forward. Tach is showing about 900 RPM at this point, even after coming to a stop.

After I have been stopped for a second or so, the engine slows to about 600 RPM (indicated) and stops fighting the brakes.

If I slow down and stop gradually, the problem is minimized because the engine RPM has time to decline in synch with the vehicle speed.

I have about 11,000 miles on the truck, and already the front wheels are covered with a film of reddish-brown brake dust from this use.

I recall that several of my older carbureted vehicles had a "dashpot" adjustment to regulate how quickly the engine slowed after removal of accelerator pressure. Does this truck have a similar adjustment? If so, where do I access it?

Thanks!
