2015 RAM Uconnect 5.0 sd/USB issues
I purchased my RAM 1500 sxt from a dealer in a little town near my home town. The radio was working fine until I had an integrated trailer brake controller that I installed myself but flashed by the dealer. I only noticed a few hours after picking up my RAM that when I plug in my ipod, the screen reads the input as SD. It plays fine but limits some functions. I can't go into any of my playlists, and I can't do any specific artists, genres, song searches. When I press the media button on the stereo and ask it to play something specific, it tells me no artists found or no tracks found. Every time, I restart the vehicle, it doesn't play the last song that was playing but starts right from the beginning in the A's. For some reason, it's reading my ipod as an SD card except that the truck doesn't even come equipped with the SD card slot. I brought it back to the dealer that programmed my trailer brake controller (different dealer from where it was purchased) and they said that the trailer brake controller installation had nothing to do with the radio working this way. Here is what they wrote on the service order:
Complaint: Check for when plug in ipod - get message on screen - - - SD. Cannot scroll thru songs on ipod.
Cause: check codes in radio - - - tried owners ipod and techs ipod - worked the same - shows SD format -
Correction: updated all software as per bulletin 08-108-14 - make up flash drive - update radio then attempt to use source to pick up albums, songs, artists - cannot pickup any tried everyway possible - over and over again with 2 different units and cables and found info in owner manual in glove box - not equipped for this type of feature - maybe if music was downloaded on a USB drive - may work.
The dealer was basically trying to say that this is normal although that since December 20th of 2014 till March 17th 2015 the system worked flawlessly.
I'm going to try to call the dealer that sold me the truck and go from there but any insight would be great.
Thank you,

Same issue with my 2015 1500 ram express...
Ipod played for 2 years and just won't play songs. Displays them and all but won't play... Dealer reset it but still same... Called uconnect still waiting for their input.... Basically stuck with broken technology and paying for it... When lease is up they can have their f truck.
