PCM connectors will never be right again
Well Im trading my 2011 ram in for a chevy. The deal is done and the ram will be someone elses problem come June. The most unreliable vehicle I have ever owned. Thanks LargeFarva I believe you were correct in putting the wire tie on the airconditioner line (which runs right over all 4 pcm connectors) will help. But You've exposed for me the real problem. Rainwater leaks directly on to several connectors under the hood. The dealership has taken these apart several times and "cleaned" them. The plastic housings for 3 of the 4 connectors is gone. Black electrical tape has been wrapped around everything. I cannot risk my safety on an unreliable truck as I am already disabled and need to never have a vehicle with electrical problems. When the connectors get wet the transmission slips in and out of 1st gear and then wont shift out of first properly. Seems the entire cowl below the windshield is loose (dealer says thats how it is). Poorly designed for New York weather. My big Dodge truck is afraid of the rain. So now I have to see what dodge will give me for my extended warranty when I sell it back to them. Never Again!!!
Well that sucks, but yes it is kind of a dumb design. I see problems with them very rarely, it only affects a small number of trucks, but it is a problem regardless. I would say the bigger problem is the dealerships service department. If you keep coming back with the same problems they should find a solution, an entire wiring harness should be covered by your extended warranty and should have been ordered for your truck, it is absolutely unacceptable IMO to have to return with the same issue more than 3 times with no real solution.
Connectors repair kits are available, a water deflector can easily be made, I wonder why there was such a lack of effort made to repair your truck.
Best of luck to you, I have heard good things about GM trucks and I personally like the styling a lot.

I assure you the last thing I wanted to do was to get rid of the RAM. But I can't depend on it or the dealership (Drivers Village) here in Syracuse. And one would think Dodge would be concerned after the 4th computer was installed with only 32,000 miles. But they could care less about it. I just hope GM and East Syracuse Chevy will be more professional. Dont buy from Drivers Village.

I hope you're happy with it.
I bought a 2014 GMC and traded it in for my Ram with just 4000 miles on it. In a lot of ways I really liked it - looks are great I think - but I couldn't stand the powertrain.
The torque was so-so (5.3), but the way the tranny managed the power was horrendous. Maybe a tuner would have fixed it but I was just tired of messing with it. Unless you had your foot in it, it would shift so that you started at 1200 RPM in the next gear. Then, if you wanted to go faster it would drop 2 or 3 gears. Very annoying and not very efficient. I get the same mileage with the 5.7 and 3.92 gears on the Ram as I did with the 5.3 and 3.23(?) gears on the GMC. AND have a lot more fun.
I'd be real interested to compare the torque curves on the 5.7 versus the 5.3. The 5.3 feels more like a car engine - you need to rev it to get power. Peak power may be great, but in a truck you need power below 3000 RPM. You want it at 1500-2000, which the Ram provides. IMO the Ram is a real truck, the Chevy appeals to the masses which uses pickups like cars.
BTW, I have been a die hard GM guy for 35 years, but Ram has me converted as far as trucks go.

GMC 1500 SLT has a 6.2L option, neighbor has one. Looks like about 40K for a 2wd CrewCab SLT with 6.2L on the GMC build tool.
