Default Need new battery

OK, I'm to the point of replacing the battery in my 2009 Ram. I looked at Advanced Auto and Auto Zone and they say if you have a MYGIG Radio REN or REZ you have to pull the fuse before replacing the battery. Anybody know why or which fuse you have to pull.

My guess would be the radio fuse. Should be marked in the fuse panel door or in the owners manual.

Both places install batteries for free. Let them worry about it. I'm ASE certified tech and last battery I bought I got at Advance and let them install it. Why lug the old out and lift the new one in when they do it for nuthin???

I think pulling the fuse is just hype, so that you feel you need to take it to a professional. Just yank the battery and don't worry about it. The worst that will happen is that your radio won't work afterwards. Who cares, when you have a Hemi? Good excuse to get a Magnaflow.

Never heard of any issues with the Rams.....yet. Although it is getting crazy with other makes. Meaning, you have to have an aux power connected to the vehicles before disconnecting batteries or things like the throttle control, 4wd, etc. may be locked out until a dealer scanner is hooked up. Hopefully Ram does not go there but it never hurts to have a ten dollar aux battery plugged in while you change batteries.

I changed my battery on my 2010 without pulling some fuse first. I call BS on this. Also, what about all the people disconnecting their batteries to reset the computer. Common sense....
