Default 13 Ram Back up camera info please

I have a 2013 Ram Crew cab 5.7 with 8speed
The truck does have the 8.5 Uconnect.
I want to add a back up camera.
Seen both the handle and lic plate cameras.
Does one have a better view than the other?
Just tired of dinging my bumper every time I back into the boat trailer.
Is one easier/cheaper to install?
I looked in youtube and never really found the ease of install also found prices vary on ebay.
Any help or direction / links would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks Max

Ive got the factory one in the tailgate, 100 times better then license plate. I had one of those on my Dakota.
Factory one has a HUGE wide view, You can see the bumper, great for backing up to a trailer to factory might be a easier install to.
I would bet the wiring is there if you have the locking tailgate to, would just need to be turned on at the dealer, once the new handle/camera was installed.

I just installed the Hopkins smart hitch backup cam and it was super easy on my 2013. Its plug and play with the round 7 prong trailer hook up. The cam is adjustable (up and down)and it has sensors that warn you when your 5.5 feet and closer... Tractor supply had it for 150 after taxes. Google it and you will see a bunch of videos on it. Its got to be cheaper the a factory one being added. I was going to go with a cheaper cam but wanted the sensors that warn you.. I have not hooked up to my trailer yet so I'm not sure how that's going to work yet. I do have a 2" drop hitch and I can't see the ball in the cam, so I may have to go with a 1" drop instead. On the install I almost ran out of wire that comes with the kit.. I installed the screen up next to my review mirror. They do sell extension wires for the kit if needed. It also gives you 2 options for the screen one helps line up the trailer to the ball. Check them out..
