Default 4th gen ram 1500 rear end issue

Alright, so my 2011 ram is making a weird grinding sort or sound. Which seems to be coming from the end of the drive shaft where it meets the differential. Also, when the truck is in drive with foot on brake, when you slowly take your foot off the brake the truck "hops" at first? Then stops completely once RPMS reach above 1k. Please help. I'm lost

Sounds potentially catastrophic. You do NOT want to lose a rear end or driveshaft while going down the road. I would have it towed to your dealer and have them diagnose.

Either get under there and check out the driveshaft at the diff end or have someone do it for you. I've lost a driveshaft before (ironically on my first car which was a 72 Dodge Coronet!) and at speed......it can be devastating.
