Default "Sticky" Speedometer

Hey everyone, just noticed on my '11 RAM 1500 Sport (with 86,867 miles) my speedometer is starting to 'stick' for lack of a better term. Instead of smoothly gliding during acceleration between 0 MPH and 25 MPH, the gauge will move at increments, almost like a ticking clock would. I have called the dealer and set up an appointment, but wondering if any of you had a similar issue before and what was done to correct it. Also, this isn't 'normal,' correct?

I have owned a '10 RAM before this and know 4 others with similar trucks without this happening, but figured I'd ask either way. Thanks again everyone.
