New ram running high rpm
So I picked up a 2016 1500 Ram laramie crew cab a couple of weeks ago. It has the 8 speed with the hemi.
Dealer seems to think this is how it should run.
When i am going over 20 mphs and hit the brake to slow down. When i am coasting it gets to about 14mph and stays at that speed when my foot is off brake and gas. When i try and shift it with the stearing gear shift it says its in 3rd gear. Now when i am at a stop sign and let go of brake to take off it will speed up to 5-10mphs without ever pushing the gas.
Seems like when it shifts the rpms jump up a little bit inbetween shifts.
This too me doesnt seem right. I had a 2014 same thing 8 speed hemi and it never did this.
There excuse is it is a hemi and it has 390hp lol!!!!

I ran your post by our corporate techs and they said just based on your post the RPM sounds a bit higher than normal. If I can help get you back to the dealership, it would be beneficial for them to open a STAR case and converse with our techs to make sure everything is ok. Please DM your VIN if I can help!
